MJ Still Ruling The Charts

June 30th, 2009 Scott Austin No comments

“With the Black Eyed Peas’ “The E.N.D.” looking to recapture the No. 1 slot on the Billboard 200 chart with slightly less than 100,000, this week will mark the first time a catalog album has sold more than a current release.”

Family Force 5 Charts!!!

August 27th, 2008 Scott Austin No comments

Congrats to my friends Family Force 5 on their debut at # 30 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart and # 8 on the Alternative Rock Chart!!! I was one of the early believers in these guys and signed them to Maverick back in 2005… These guys are living proof that hard work and unwavering belief in your music DOES pay off!!!

Gaucho Grill: “Come Back… In 2 Months”

December 13th, 2007 Scott Austin No comments

So after looking forward all week to getting caught up with my good friend and journalist extraordinaire Melinda Newman (LA Times, Associated Press, fmr West Coast Bureau Chief Billboard Magazine etc etc..) over a warm Manager’s Salad at Gaucho Grill on Sunset Blvd, my anticipation was quickly quelled after pulling into the valet only to be told that Gaucho was remodeling and under construction for the next two months.  Bummer!

No worries, our friends at Vivoli Cafe are here to save the day and appease us with fantastic Italian fare at incredibly reasonable prices.  Not only did Melinda and I get fully caught up on each other’s lives and discuss just enough industry news for us to not feel guilty for taking a 2+ hour lunch during one of the final work days of the year, we ran into friends from ASCAP including my ol’ pal Tom DeSavia.

And as an added bonus/ego boost, I had a fan in the restaurant!  A wonderful lady who professed her appreciation for my work after seeing me on the Canadian broadcast of Rocker Moms… at least our friends up North have seen it!

No Gaucho No Problem.
