En route to hook up with the Needhams and WillBr for some dinner at the new Eva Longoria / Todd English joint Beso and was delighted to be joined by old friend Chris Isaak.. I’ll never forget the 27/50 birthday party where the man behind Wicked Game became our very own doorman, ushering guests into our private room at Jones Hollywood.
BTW, apparently not everyone thinks the fire at Basque was accidental!
Check out the ATF truck on the corner of Hollywood and Vine that caused my short tardiness, you don’t see one of those everyday!
The :90 Music Show is finally up and running with great episodes on deck every two weeks from now on! Episode 1 features uber-mixer Mark Needham and Emerging Artist The Frail from San Francisco.
Look for Josh Kelley, Marie Digby, Stephane Bombet, Mike Daly and other industry friends coming up in future episodes!
Last night was off to see U2-3D for the FOURTH time.. I’m a fan but not obsessed, I’ve been doing some research on the different viewing experiences for business purposes.. If you didn’t know, each theater has their own projection/sound equipment that provides a slightly different viewing experience depending on where you go.
Last night the spot was the IMAX theater at Universal City Walk with the Needhams and Will (didn’t forget your credit this time)… Was good to randomly bump into Rich from Clear Static, one of my former signings at Maverick.. Hit me up.
This photo sums it up, the Needhams are watching you.
Dinner at Viva Fresh on the Equestrian Beltway and bowling at the Pickwick!!! The Needhams, smAsh and the Rok-to round out the competition, and fierce competitors they most certainly are!!!
After picking the best night of the week to roll (sarcasm… League night), we pulled some major clout and scored lane 10 which was the arena for the ultimate showdown of might, brawn and rolling skill.
Let’s just say I’m not quitting my day (or night) CEO job anytime soon… And yes, Needham rolled a strike during a Killers song, go figure.
Universal City Walk is far from the coolest place to be in L.A. on a Saturday night… It’s full of tourists and ‘bridge and tunnelers’ and a socialite would NEVER be seen here, which makes it the PERFECT place for me and the Needhams to have some dinner and enjoy some entertainment. If you’re just tuning in, Mark Needham is not only one of my best friends, he is one of the best mix engineers on the planet, having mixed everything from the multi-platinum Killers debut “Hot Fuss” to the timeless Chris Isaak classic “Wicked Game“… but enough about him.
Buca di Beppo was the joint tonite, serving up an overdose of chicken canneloni, fettucini and gnocchi pastas that left us all stuffed beyond belief. The martini service was a bit delayed but the hearty meal and Italian fare was more than enough to make up for it. Mrs. Needham, Pauline, was forward-thinking enough to broker us a reservation that allowed us to waltz right in and had us seated directly in front of an image that would be the topic of conversation for most of the evening… what was happening here? What exactly was going on in this photo???
You be the judge, all I know is the company was perfect, the food was delicious and I’m just fine with joining the rank and file at The Walk.
