Happy Birthday To Me…
And what better way to celebrate than with a world class meal courtesy of smASH, a glass of red wine and reading about the finest director this world has seen (book courtesy of a very good friend)… Stanley Kubrick.
Cheers!

Cheers!

The stage was set last night, and the dueling pianos of Elton John AND Billy Joel sharing the stage to perform some of the biggest hit songs ever written was awe-inspiring, to say the least. The two icons played an arsenal of tunes, with my personal highlight fav’s including “Yellow Brick Road”, “Allentown” and “I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues”.

Tix courtesy of smASH, thanks BABE!
The one and only smASH got yet another subtle shout out on PerezHilton.com today, with her fabulously uber-retro-pop pic of our gossip gangsta friend still hanging in the background of his latest blog posting!
Millions more eyeballs get to see one of this world’s most talented acrylic pop artists! He’s even asking me personally if I’m ready!!

So the Holidays ended up being some of the the most amazingly relaxing times I can remember in recent history… This despite the fact that they took smASH and I on adventures that began at the Annual Holiday Party in LA and continued through New York City, Vermont, Newport Beach, Las Vegas, Big Bear and back!
Special thanks to all of our friends and family who provided new memories and good times abound.

and finally…
I have seen hundreds of shows in my career spanning everyone from the local bar band to U2, Radiohead, Coldplay, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith, Christina Aguilera, Rod Stewart and others, but as of tonight everything pales in comparison to the one I saw last night.
Thanks to smASH, we scored about the most amazing seats one can get to Neil Diamond at the Hollywood Bowl!!! Fourth row, CENTER! So close we could touch him!
This was one of the greatest Performances I have ever seen and is a reinforcement of music’s need for iconic rockstars!
Our journey is chronicled below:
Start with 2 Martinis and a healthy snack:

Take a quick stroll up the hill to the Hollywood Bowl:

Find out you’re sitting 6 feet from Neil in an audience of 18,000:

Sing it Neil:

Special thanks to smASH for the invite to see her client Everclear rock the Paramount Studios Lot… Was good to catch up with frontman Art Alexakis about the Capitol Records days backstage…
Also proved an amazing opportunity to see one of my other favorite bands of the 90’s in a VERY exclusive and somewhat surreal setting, Sugar Ray!
EVERCLEARÂ

SUGAR RAY
